Italian Cheesie Sausage Dip

This is so simple to fix and is delicious. I make this in the slow cooker so it never fails. If you use one of the slow cooker disposable liners there is no clean up either. We like this with garlic bread and hot mozarella sticks.


  • 1 large onion; diced
  • 1 medium green pepper; diced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatos
  • 2 cloves garlic; minced
  • 3 cans (15 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 lb. Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage Links
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. dried sweet basil
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan-Romano cheese blend
  • 2 Tbsp. grated Mozzarella cheese (per serving)
  • 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper


  • Dice the sausage into a small dice, maybe 1/4 in.
  • In a slow cooker, place a disposable liner, no clean up...yeah!
  • Place all ingredients in the slow cooker except the Mozzarella.
  • Cook on low for at least 5 hours.
  • When ready to serve, ladle in individual small bowls and sprinkle with abour 2 Tbsp. Mozzarella cheese
