Fiestaville Sausage Dogs!

The state fair corn dogs don't even come close!!! These are so amazing, just packed with flavors! I take a Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage and dip it in my spicy cornbread mix. I serve this with a side of homemade Jalapeño relish. Everyone I serve these to are simply impressed with the flavor and originality!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups corn meal
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 can cream corn
  • 1/2 can corn; drained
  • 1 Jalapeño; diced
  • 1 cup spicy cheese; shredded (I use Habanero Cheddar)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 5 Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage Links

DIRECTIONS

  • Heat deep fryer to medium-high heat.
  • Mix all ingredients, except sausage, in a bowl.
  • Place a stick in the end of the sausage.
  • Dip sausages in corn bread mix.
  • Fry sausages for 6-7 min., or until meat thermometer inserted reads 160° F or higher and crust is golden brown.
